Here at Baba's House, we showcase an artists' work at our 2nd floor event space every quarter. This quarter, we're honored to feature works by our talented friend, AshRose.

This exhibition draws inspiration from Patrick Nagel, a prominent Art Deco artist of the 1980s, highlighting themes of empowerment for people of color, women’s strength, and resistance against patriarchy.

Join us for an evening of art, karaoke, and mahjong to celebrate the opening reception!

The exhibition invites viewers to engage with a series of visually dynamic pieces hat resonate with the joys of games, music, and television from Faith's youth. Interactive installations allow guests to play games that inspired her creativity, creating a dialogue between past and present.

As you navigate the space, the curated soundscape of nostalgic melodies and iconic television moments further enhances this immersive experience, encouraging reflection on the interplay of memory and art.

ARTIST BIO

Faith 高 Cao, born and raised from Oakland, California, is a Vietnamese, Teochew, Cantonese American. As a first-generation daughter of refugees, she graduated in a STEM field before embracing a full-time artistic journey.

Faith is a multi-passionate creative who runs a small business called Caoculator. Their artwork emerges from a desire to fill gaps in the art world - while keeping things cute for they are a die hard Sanrio girl. Their versatility shines through various mediums such as printing making, mural painting, and digital art. They make pieces to inspire others and/or cleverly humorous pieces of art to put a smile on someone's face.

• Please be ON TIME for your match, we will enforce a 10 min DQ timer for time constraints

Registration

• Venue fee: $5 (supports Baba's)

• Bracket fee: $5 (goes to the prize pot!)

• HOWEVER, if you bring a full setup (Switch + dock + monitor + gc adapter) you can waive the venue fee (limited to 5). To reserve yourself the option to bring a set up, confirm with a TO in the Discord server. We need set ups!

Prize Pool

The prize pool will be divided amongst the top 3:

• 1st place: 60%

• 2nd place: 30%

• 3rd place: 10%
